Unique Christmas Ornaments

With the growing popularity of people making their own ornaments you will start seeing more unique ornaments.  These ornaments are typically made with specific things in mind of the people that make them.  These ornaments are often personalized with the person that made the ornament, or the family of the person that made the ornament.  These are special ornaments that someone made for a person, or people of their family that has special meaning to them and those family members. 

There are different options that you have when making these type of ornaments.  First you can find basic ornaments and paint them however you want, and make them personalized to yourself or someone else.  Another option you have is getting a regular ornament and decorating it however you want.  These types of ornaments may not have a particular meaning to anyone, but it is totally unique and there is no other one like that made anywhere.  These are good because they make your ornaments totally unique to your tree and gives your tree a special look to any other tree someone may see. 

The only thing you really need to make a unique Christmas ornament is a hot glue gun, some ribbon, and other things that you can use to decorate these ornaments.  After you have that you should find some nice ornaments that will make it easy for you to decorate.  If you get some that are too small it will be difficult to add things to make them your own.  Once you find the right size and shape ornament you can start adding different things to it.  Using hot glue on the ribbon will help it adhere it to the bauble and also use gems and other colorful things to make your ornaments unique to your tree.

These are also good for children as well, you can get some paint, and have your children color ornaments however they want to make them unique.  If your children are younger and you do not trust them with glass ornaments you can go to craft stores and buy some Styrofoam balls that people sometimes use in tailoring.  These Styrofoam balls can be painted anyway that you want, they dry quickly, are light enough to hang on tree and are safe for younger children. 

Some people make this type of decorating a tradition, and family members will work on their own Christmas ornament each year to hang on the tree.  This is a great idea for a family so that they will have both the time to spend with each other, and the ability to make their tree really unique.  The best thing is anyone can do this, and every year you decorate the tree you can spend that time remembering when they painted those ornaments.
